Case Study Brief

The Installation Challenge
The pollution-control dam required consistent protection, welded containment and traceability across the 6,500 m² lining area. Subgrade condition, anchorage and weld quality all affected the final system.
MIRAFI® P40 protection geotextile and 2.0 mm GSE® HDPE geomembrane were supplied and installed as the specified assembly. Trial seams, production records, applicable non-destructive checks and destructive samples supported the installation QA/QC.
Installation Sequence
Review the prepared dam surface
Inspect the supporting formation and anchorage details before releasing the area for lining.
Place the protection layer and panels
Install MIRAFI® P40 geotextile and deploy the 2.0 mm GSE® HDPE panels with roll and panel traceability.
Complete seams and anchorage
Carry out controlled welding and form the perimeter and interface details to the project requirements.
Test and document the completed works
Use the appropriate seam-test method for each joint configuration, repair and retest defects, and compile the quality and as-built records.
Field Quality Assurance (QA/QC) Checklist
Quality checks recorded on this installation.
