Quality Assurance That Protects People, Projects, and the Environment
Geosynthetics Africa applies documented quality control from material verification through installation and handover. As an IAGI Installer Member, we support recognised installation practices, with inspection and testing requirements defined by the project specification, manufacturer guidance and agreed QA/QC plan. Seam test records and material traceability form part of the project documentation.
A Quality Framework Built for Africa's Most Demanding Projects
Material Receiving & Verification
Every consignment is verified against the project specification before a single roll is accepted on site. We check manufacturer mill certificates, conformance test reports, roll numbers, and product datasheets - confirming virgin-grade material, correct specification, and compliance with GRI-GM13 or the applicable standard. If it does not pass receiving inspection, it does not go into the ground.
Pre-Installation Engineering Review
Before installation begins, our team reviews panel layouts, anchor trench details, subgrade condition, drainage requirements and site-specific risks within the agreed scope. Identified issues are referred for resolution before the affected installation work proceeds.
Manufacturer-Aligned Installation Standards
Installation follows the applicable manufacturer guidelines and approved project specification for each system. Our certified welders receive ongoing in-house continuing professional development covering installation practices, quality control, health, safety and environmental requirements.
Seam Testing - Non-Destructive & Destructive
Geomembrane seams undergo non-destructive testing using the applicable method: air-channel pressure testing for dual-track fusion seams under ASTM D5820, and vacuum-box testing of suitable extrusion seams under ASTM D5641/D5641M. Destructive samples are taken at intervals defined in the approved project QA/QC plan and evaluated for peel and shear strength under ASTM D6392. Results are recorded by seam, technician, date and outcome. Failed areas are repaired and retested before acceptance.
On-Site Quality Control & Independent Review
Our installation teams undertake documented quality control, including subgrade inspections, weld-condition checks, anchor trench and penetration inspections, and site QC records as required by the approved project QA/QC plan. Independent third-party review is provided where required by the project specification or agreed scope.
Handover Dossier & Full Traceability
Every project closes with a complete handover dossier — the definitive record of what was installed, where, by whom, and to what standard. Contents include as-built panel layout drawings, all seam test records, manufacturer certificates with roll-to-panel traceability, photographic documentation of key installation stages, and a signed conformance statement. A document package built to last as long as the structure it covers.

IAGI Membership
Geosynthetics Africa is an IAGI Installer Member, supporting recognised geosynthetic installation practices. Membership is separate from technician certification and Approved Installation Contractor status, and does not constitute certification or supervision of individual projects.
IAGI Membership. Documented Installation Quality.
The International Association of Geosynthetic Installers (IAGI) promotes good practice in geosynthetic installation. Geosynthetics Africa is an IAGI Installer Member. Membership is distinct from IAGI Certified Welding Technician certification and Approved Installation Contractor status; it does not mean IAGI supervises or certifies individual projects. Our work is controlled through applicable manufacturer guidance, project specifications and the approved QA/QC plan, supported by documented inspections, seam testing, material traceability and handover records. Independent third-party review is provided where required by the project specification or agreed scope.
