System Overview

Silt fences and silt curtains address different sediment pathways. Fences intercept sediment-laden surface runoff on land, while floating curtains manage suspended sediment during suitable in-water construction or dredging. Geosynthetics Africa selects, fabricates, supplies and installs both across Africa.

We review the catchment, soil or sediment, expected runoff or water conditions and installation constraints before selecting the fence fabric or complete curtain arrangement.

Appoint us for material supply or an integrated package. We fabricate where required, deliver across borders and install with our own crews, with inspection stages and handover records set before mobilisation.

Send your project location, drawings, quantities, operating conditions and required date. Our technical team will review the specification and prepare a proposal covering material, installation and QA/QC.

The Sediment Control We Build

How Geosynthetics Africa Delivers Across Africa

Appoint us for material supply or an integrated supply, delivery, installation and QA/QC package, planned around your site, specification and construction programme.

Technical Selection & Scope

We review the catchment, soil or sediment, expected runoff or water conditions and installation constraints before selecting the fence fabric or complete curtain arrangement.

Supply & Cross-Border Delivery

We schedule, pack and ship your materials, prepare the customs documents and deliver to your African project site. We confirm availability, shipment sequence and mobilisation in your proposal.

Installation & Site Controls

We supply selvedged fence fabric, supports and toe embedment, or fabricate curtain sections with flotation, ballast, connectors and moorings, and deliver and deploy them on site.

Our QA/QC & Handover

Our checks cover fabric and batch identity, fabrication dimensions and seams, fence support and toe details, or curtain connections and moorings. Maintenance and turbidity checks follow the environmental plan.

Why Choose Geosynthetics Africa

Access standard and heavy-duty fence fabrics and project-specific curtain fabrication through one partner, with practical selection and installation interfaces rather than a barrier class alone.

Sediment Control: Silt Curtains & Silt Fences — Key System Components

Key System Components

1

Silt-fence fabric and supports

We match fabric opening and flow properties, support spacing and toe embedment to the runoff and soil conditions.

2

Floating silt-curtain assembly

Configure skirt, flotation, ballast and load-bearing connections for the designed water depth and conditions.

3

Maintenance and environmental interfaces

We provide access for sediment removal, inspection, repair and the required runoff or water-quality monitoring.

Selecting Your Sediment Control: Silt Curtains & Silt Fences System

We separate land-based runoff control from in-water sediment control and define the environmental objectives.

For fences, assess soil, catchment, flow concentration, support and embedment; for curtains, assess depth, current, waves, tides and moorings.

We define inspection, sediment removal, storm response, turbidity monitoring and the limits of operation.

Installation & Project Delivery

We prepare supports and toe trenches or the curtain deployment and anchor positions under the approved plan.

We install continuous fence runs with the specified returns and embedment, or assemble and deploy the curtain and mooring system.

We inspect after installation and significant weather or flows, maintain the barrier and remove accumulated sediment or damaged components as required.

Our Sediment Control: Silt Curtains & Silt Fences QA/QC

Approved Scope & Inspection Plan

We confirm drawings, product submittals, acceptance criteria and hold points before our installation work starts.

Fabrication and material identity

We verify fabric grade, dimensions, seams and identified batches or sections.

Fence or curtain installation checks

We record support and embedment details or flotation, ballast, connections and anchor placement.

Operational inspection

We document damage, sediment build-up, repairs and specified monitoring or maintenance actions.

Documented Handover

We compile material certificates, installation inspections, test results, repairs and as-built information for your project team.
