Geosynthetics Tanzania - Liners, Geotextiles, Geogrids, GCL, Geocells & Gabions

Geosynthetics Africa supplies and installs the full geosynthetic range across Tanzania - HDPE and LLDPE geomembrane in smooth and textured finish, woven and non-woven geotextiles, uniaxial and biaxial geogrids, geosynthetic clay liners, geocells, drainage geocomposites and PVC-coated gabion baskets and Reno mattresses. Material lands through Dar es Salaam port or moves overland via the Tunduma-Nakonde corridor, reaching Geita, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Kahama, Dodoma and Mtwara. We handle TBS pre-export verification, certificates of origin and TRA clearance, then mobilise our IAGI installer member crews from the nearest office - one contract from mill certificate to final CQA sign-off.

Material Supply & Logistics

Dar es Salaam Port & Central Corridor Supply to the Goldfields

Stock is held in Dar es Salaam with our associate Lynx Supply Services. Beyond that, material for Tanzania moves two ways. Container shipments land at Dar es Salaam port for mill-direct bulk tonnage, and road freight runs overland from our Johannesburg hub via the Tunduma-Nakonde crossing where volumes or lead times suit it. Either route carries the full range on one order: HDPE and LLDPE geomembrane in smooth and textured finish, non-woven and woven geotextiles, biaxial and uniaxial geogrids, GCL, geocells, drainage geocomposites and galvanised or PVC-coated gabion baskets and Reno mattresses. We arrange Tanzania Bureau of Standards pre-export verification of conformity before shipment, so consignments are not held at the port for want of a certificate. TRA clearance, SADC or EAC certificates of origin and inland transit documentation are handled by our clearing agents at Dar es Salaam. From the port, material runs the Central Corridor to Dodoma, Singida, Shinyanga, Kahama, Mwanza and Geita, with delivery direct to mine site laydown areas. Rolls are sequenced and labelled to your approved panel layout, and every consignment ships with mill certificates and full batch and roll traceability.

Large-Diameter Drainage for Tanzanian Agriculture

Large-Diameter Drainage for Tanzanian Agriculture

Large-diameter GeoStruct corrugated HDPE pipe installed on an irrigation and agricultural drainage scheme in Tanzania. Structured-wall pipe gives high ring stiffness at low weight, so long runs are handled and jointed on site without heavy lifting plant, and the material carries no corrosion risk in aggressive or saline soils. Supplied and installed by the same crew as the liner and geotextile scope, with bedding, jointing and outfall detailing signed off under one CQA plan.

Field Installation & Contracting

Mining, Water & Civils Installation Services in Tanzania

We deploy our installation crews to Tanzania from our nearest office for the full geosynthetic scope, not liner alone. Geomembrane deployment and welding runs on dual-track hot wedge welders and extrusion guns, with trial welds at every shift start and on any material temperature change. Alongside that we install GCL with correct overlap and bentonite detailing, geotextile cushion and separation layers, biaxial and uniaxial geogrid for subgrade stabilisation and reinforced soil, geocell infill and anchorage, drainage geocomposites, and gabion baskets and Reno mattresses for erosion and river works. Typical scopes include tailings storage facilities and CIL residue containment across the Lake Victoria goldfields at Geita, Bulyanhulu, North Mara and Buzwagi, heap leach pads, process and return water dams, raw and potable water reservoirs, irrigation schemes and farm dams, landfill basal lining and closure capping, canal and river training works, and geogrid and geocell works on trunk road, SGR and bridge approach projects. Crews travel self-contained with welding rigs, generators, spark testers, tensiometers, vacuum boxes and site accommodation, working to client HSE and mine-standard inductions. Every scope runs under a project-specific CQA plan with a signed as-built pack at handover.

Quality Control & Standards Compliance

Independent Testing, TBS Conformity & CQA Certification

Every project runs under a written CQA plan agreed before mobilisation. Geomembrane seams are verified by non-destructive air pressure testing on dual-track welds and vacuum box testing on extrusion welds, with destructive coupons cut at the specified frequency and taken to peel and shear on calibrated field tensiometers. Trial welds run at each shift start, after every four hours, and on any material temperature change. Testing covers the full range, not liner alone. Conformance samples are drawn on arrival against mill certificates for geotextile, geogrid, GCL and geocell, and material entering Tanzania carries Tanzania Bureau of Standards pre-export verification of conformity completed before shipment. Subgrade is inspected and accepted in writing before deployment. GCL overlap, bentonite continuity and hydration control are checked panel by panel, geogrid rib orientation and overlap verified against design, and gabion mesh gauge, coating and lacing inspected to specification. Handover includes the full CQA pack: panel layout as-builts, resin-to-roll and batch traceability, all non-destructive and destructive test records, trial weld logs, a repair and patch register, and third-party CQA sign-off where the client appoints an independent consultant.
