MSE Walls, Crusher Walls & Reinforced Slopes
Geogrid reinforcement for MSE walls, bridge approaches, crusher walls and reinforced steep slopes across Africa. Geosynthetics Africa supplies specified reinforcement grades and coordinates installation requirements with the project designer. Submit geometry, loads and design schedules for a scoped proposal.
System Overview
Mechanically stabilised earth (MSE) walls and reinforced slopes use tensile geogrid layers within compacted fill to form an engineered soil mass. Geosynthetics Africa supplies reinforcement and associated filtration and drainage materials for demanding mining and infrastructure structures across Africa. Materials must match the approved system and its long-term design requirements.
For crusher walls, bridge approaches and steep slopes, we assess reinforcement strength together with creep, durability, installation damage, pullout, facing connections, settlement and global stability. Send us the geotechnical information, wall or slope geometry, surcharge and impact loads, reinforcement schedule and programme, and we quote supply, delivery, installation and inspection.

How Geosynthetics Africa Delivers Across Africa
Appoint us for material supply or an integrated supply, delivery, installation and QA/QC package, planned around your site, specification and construction programme.
Technical Selection & Scope
We translate the approved reinforcement schedule into exact geogrid grades, lengths and quantities, with the facing connections, filters and drainage specified for the structure.
Supply & Cross-Border Delivery
We schedule, pack and ship your materials, prepare the customs documents and deliver to your African project site. We confirm availability, shipment sequence and mobilisation in your proposal.
Installation & Site Controls
We deliver reinforcement and check every lift: grid direction, length, elevation, facing connection and backfill placement.
Our QA/QC & Handover
Our inspection records track reinforcement grade and layer placement before burial, with connection checks, facing surveys, drainage inspections and the specified fill and compaction results.
Why Choose Geosynthetics Africa
We supply grade-specific reinforcement and support construction of crusher walls, bridge approaches and reinforced-soil structures.

Key System Components
Engineered facing units
We build the facing that retains the outer fill and connect it to the reinforcement with the approved system detail, verifying face geometry, connection components and construction tolerances.
Uniaxial or specified soil-reinforcement geogrid
We select each geogrid grade on its long-term design strength and reduction factors, and lay reinforcement lengths, elevations and primary strength direction to the structural and geotechnical design.
Engineered reinforced fill
We place backfill whose grading, shear properties, chemistry and compaction match the design assumptions, in controlled lifts without displacing or damaging the reinforcement.
Facing connection system
We use tested and approved connectors for the facing and exact geogrid grade, checking installation, seating and capacity at the relevant loads, and we never use unapproved grid splices.
Filtered internal and foundation drainage
We install filters, drains and outlets that control water within and behind the reinforced zone, keeping them continuous and free of construction contamination.
Design Inputs for MSE Walls & Reinforced Slopes
We establish foundation conditions, geometry, design life and all operating loads, including crusher or stockpile surcharge, and assess bearing, settlement, external stability and global slip mechanisms.
We select reinforcement on grade-specific long-term strength, creep, durability and installation-damage data, and check internal rupture, pullout, facing connections and serviceability for the actual fill and stresses.
We coordinate drainage, facing, corners, obstructions and construction sequence, and fix reinforcement schedules, backfill properties, compaction criteria and survey tolerances before procurement.
MSE Walls & Reinforced Slopes Installation & Handover
Our crews release the foundation, set line and level, build the facing and drainage with the reinforcement schedule at the work front, and inspect each geogrid grade, connection, length and orientation before placing fill.
We build and inspect each lift before burial: we keep reinforcement aligned, place accepted fill and compact within limits, survey the face and keep drains open, then hand over layer records, test reports and as-built reinforcement information.
MSE Walls & Reinforced Slopes QA/QC
Design schedule and material approval
We verify reinforcement grades and quantities against the approved layer schedule, long-term design data and facing system requirements.
Foundation and drainage release
We record bearing-area acceptance, levelling details and drainage interfaces before building the reinforced mass.
Reinforcement and connection inspection
We check grade, direction, length, elevation and facing connection on every lift and record them before covering.
Backfill, compaction and geometry
We document fill acceptance, compaction tests and face surveys, and raise any unanticipated settlement or movement with the designer immediately.
MSE construction records
We hand over reinforcement layer logs, material references, surveys, compaction reports, drainage inspections and close-out records.
